Responded to no hot water complaint on a 4-year-old 40-gallon Bradford White gas water heater, model URG240T6N. Performed diagnostic evaluation of the unit and documented existing installation conditions including venting, gas connections, and plumbing configuration. Provided assessment and repair options to restore hot water functionality.
Responded to no hot water complaint and inspected AO Smith 40-gallon electric lowboy water heater located in first floor outside closet. Unit was determined to be non-serviceable due to age and condition. Provided estimate for replacement with American Standard water heater, discussed permit requirements, and scheduled installation appointment.
Replaced an aging 75-gallon gas water heater, over 15 years old, with a new 50-gallon gas unit per customer request to downsize. The existing water heater served a two-bathroom residential home and was due for replacement. Removed the old Bradford White 75-gallon gas water heater and disposed of it properly. Installed a new 50-gallon gas water heater with all required safety features and components. Connected copper supply lines with brass fittings to the top of the unit and installed a temperature and pressure relief valve with proper discharge piping. Secured the water heater with metal earthquake straps in compliance with safety codes. Connected the gas supply using flexible yellow gas line with appropriate shut-off valve for safe operation. Installed all necessary plumbing connections including cold water inlet and hot water outlet with shut-off valves for future serviceability.
